Hopefully many of you may already be aware that the new World Handicap System (WHS) will be introduced on 2 November 2020, replacing the CONGU Unified Handicapping System. In order to ensure everyone gets the same message regarding WHS, England Golf have developed an information campaign called “Know the Score” which will be released in phases, along a common timeline, to ensure all golfers are introduced to a similar amount of information, regardless of where they are, whether that be at the golf club, at home reading their favourite magazine, or on their favourite social media channel.

The aim of this brief newsletter is to introduce you to the General Overview documentation in a consolidated message to ensure you have a ‘One Stop Shop’ and therefore don’t have to wade through multiple individual documents to find out what’s going on.
Phase 1 – General Overview.
This can be found on the link below and highlights; what WHS is designed to achieve, why handicapping has changed and how WHS will work. Further information will be released over the coming weeks/months to ensure everyone is fully equipped with the required amount of knowledge to ensure a smooth transition to WHS.
I hope you find these bite sized chunks of information useful and if you want to know more please visit www.englandgolf.org/whs or track a member of the competitions committee or myself down at the club and we’ll do our best to help.

Yours in Golf
